Hint Radio 90.40 MHz ("we", "us", "our") operates the Radio Hint mobile application (the "App"). Hint Radio 90.40 MHz is a community radio station and part of the Hint Media Group. This page explains what information the App handles, why, and what choices you have.

By installing or using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

The App does not require you to create an account. You do not need to provide your name, phone number or email address to listen to the radio. Most of the data described below is collected automatically by standard third-party services for analytics, notifications and advertising.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Voluntarily

  • If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp using the links inside the App, we receive whatever information you choose to send us, such as your name, phone number, email address and the content of your message. We use it only to reply to you.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, language, country and advertising/device identifiers.
  • App usage information such as screens opened, listening sessions and crash diagnostics.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address. The App does not request or use GPS location.
  • A push notification token (if notifications are enabled) to send programme alerts and station announcements.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • Precise GPS location.
  • Microphone recordings.
  • Contacts, SMS messages or call logs.
  • Personal information from children under 13 knowingly.

3. Permissions the App Requests and Why

  • Internet & Network State
    Required to stream live radio and load programme schedules and images.
  • Foreground Service & Media Playback
    Allows playback to continue in the background with media controls.
  • Prevent Device From Sleeping
    Keeps the audio stream alive during playback.
  • Phone State
    Used only to detect incoming or ongoing calls so playback can pause and resume automatically. We never read your phone number, contacts, call logs or call content. This permission is optional.
  • Notifications
    Used to send programme alerts and station announcements. You can disable notifications at any time.

You may refuse or revoke these permissions in your device settings. Some App features may stop working if you do.

4. How We Use Information

  • Deliver the live audio stream.
  • Display programme schedules.
  • Improve App performance and stability.
  • Understand listener usage in aggregate.
  • Send programme alerts and announcements.
  • Display advertisements supporting the station.
  • Respond to messages you send us.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each may collect and process data according to its own Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Your Advertising ID

The App displays advertisements supplied by AppLovin and its mediation partners. These partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show more relevant ads and measure advertising performance. You can reset or delete your advertising ID or disable personalized advertising through your device settings.

6. Audio Streaming

The live audio stream is delivered from a third-party streaming provider. When you press play, your IP address is visible to that provider so audio can be delivered to your device. This is a normal part of internet streaming.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only:

  • With the service providers listed above.
  • When required by law or government authorities.
  • To protect the rights, safety or property of Hint Radio and its listeners.

8. Data Retention

  • Firebase analytics and diagnostics are retained according to Firebase default settings (typically 2–14 months).
  • Push notification tokens remain while the App is installed and notifications are enabled.
  • Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary.
  • Programme schedules and station content contain no personal listener information.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information.

Since the App has no user accounts, you may:

  • Disable notifications.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID.
  • Uninstall the App.
  • Email us requesting deletion of correspondence.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will appear on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Major changes may also be announced within the App.
